ABOUT MYKEL COLEMAN
Who is Mykel Coleman, you ask?
In 1976, Mykel was born in Tennessee to Joyce Ann Coleman and Benjamin Harden. At the
age of 4, he was electrocuted and his life was spared. Not knowing, from this young age, God
had a purpose for his existence.
Growing up in a small town in Tennessee with limited opportunities. He relocated to Chicago
where he began to pursue a career in entertainment. His first break was at 19; he became a
model for Soft Sheen Products, Inc. while he auditioned for movie roles and serving in the U.S.
Navy. This was a dream come true coming from a small town in Tennessee with limited
opportunities.
In 2003, Mykel decided to direct his attention and energy to football. He excelled rapidly as a
running back and wide receiver in semi-professional football. Rapid speed and awesome
athletic abilities, he attended the NFL Combines which caught the attention of the NFL Scouts.
With one more year of semi-professional football to be considered for a NFL team Mykel, faced
a turning point in his life. In March 2004, during a football game, he suffered an injury that left
him paralyzed from the waist down for eight days. Unable to move, he cried out “God, why me?”
There were times where he wanted to give up but a voice would repeatedly say, “Don’t give up.”
As tears ran down his face, he prayed, “God, if you get me out of this situation, I will change.” “I
will do whatever you want me to do.”
Doctors entered his hospital room on the 7th day, stating they’ would have to operate if the
swelling in his legs didn't go down by the next morning. He began to pray like never before,
pleading to God “Don't let them operate on me.” "Please heal me, God!” On the 8th day, the
doctors returned and to their amazement, not only did the swelling go down, he was able to
stand and take a few steps. Mykel’s prayers were answered and he knew that God had a
purpose for him.
To the people: “For anyone who is experiencing difficult times in there life, know that if you have
faith and continue to move forward, God will bless you in due time to fulfill the purpose he has
for your life.”

all, a messenger of God!
